i have friends within the organization that say there is a very dangerous mood prevalent throughout the vikings clubhouse -- a sense of satisfaction; a sense of "yeah nobody thought we had a chanse -- and we showed em...."; a sense of complacency. this is NOT good.
furthermore, the vikings are in a COMPLETE QUANDRY on how/what to prepare for with the eagles offense. tice and cottrell are borderline moronic to begin with, but now that the eagle offense hasn't played for a month, coupled with the fact that there is NO tapes available of the eagle offense without owens, poses HUGE problems for this already troubled defensive corps.
the only way for this defense to stop the eagles on sunday will be by accident -- could it happen -- yes, but it's not what i would call a sound investment.
another thing, reid and company pride themselves on their defense -- and they have all the tapes they need to prepare for what the vikes are going to throw at them. tice will have a hard time topping the game plan vs an anemic pack def, and will probably cause morew problems trying to change things for the eagles then he would've just throwing the exact game plan for a second consecutive week.
ande lastly, the weather could be a huge factor -- it was balmy in green bay last sunday -- it could ber near zero in philly this sunday -- thus, taking the air out of the vikes passing game.
at first thought, the vikes +9 1/2 looked to good to be true -- easy victory, but with more investigation the original thought starts to ring a bit true.
more to come this week....
